Hon. Bullet, Svetlana Jalosjos grace Gen. Acquaintance Party ‘08

Dapitan City Cultural and Sports Center – To mark the opening for new academic year, Jose Rizal Memorial State College (JRMSC), Dapitan Campus held a General Acquaintance Party deliberately merging the Induction and Oath-taking Ceremony of Supreme Student Government (SSG), and Student Organization Officers on July 11, 2008, 7 pm. here. With the theme "JRMSC: Solid Grasp for Unity, Oneness and Fortitude in the Transformation of a Resolute Student Body, the party's purpose, as it is named after, was for the students to develop camaraderie and be acquainted with one another.

The first part was the opening program in which Hon. Jorge Edrian Malazarte, SSG President rendered his opening address which was followed by Dr. Julianel A. Potoy, Campus Administrator’s Privilege Talk.

Svetlana P. Jalosjos, national artist and host of "Eat Bulaga" also conveyed a Privilege Talk. In her privilege talk emphasized the rationality of servant leadership. She said that a good leader is not self-centered and arrogant but a man who is a vista of volunteerism"

Hon. Frederick "Bullet" P. Jalosjos, Board Member of the 1st Congressional District of Zamboanga del Norte was the inducting officer of SSG and student organization officers.

The SSG officers were: Jorge Edrian M. Malazarte, President; Marty Jun C. Ugdol, Vice President and Jayson A. Dapiton, Irish G. Cuico, John Rhyll o. Acedbedo, Mark Anthony Y. Teves, Emmanuel Obina, Jonathan E. Gumela, Dinora E. Sangual, and Artchevel Capadeso (Senators).

Paul Gerard Escoton from the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (CNAHS), Daryl I. Dajuela from the College of Maritime Education (CME), Joel Richard Jatico from the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Charity P. Galvez from the College of Business and Accountancy (CBA), Paterno S. Baguinat III from the College of Education (CED). Raquim Bolivar from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) and Rodolfo Gaspay from the College of Engineering (COE) were inducted as Governors in their respective department. The Vice Governors were Florevil C. Catayas (CNAHS), Jessie T. Albetia (CME), Genevie Caidic (CAS, Stanley B. Sagan (CBA), Charles Ryan Calacat (CED), Ranel Jemino (CIT) and Marie Therese G. Tingub (COE).

The representatives from CNAHS were: Rochellove Rueda (Nursing), Ronniel Anthony C. Dagpin (AMDNA), and Zeny L. Sangual (Midwifery) while Rodel Magcanta (Nautical) and Cydric Al Bobiles (Marine Engineering) were inducted as representatives of the CME; Jean J. Elumba (BEED) and Jeason L. Masauding (BSED) for the CED; April R. Jumawan (Commerce), Kevin Rey J. Amores (HRM) and Titus T. Jumawan (Accountancy) for the CBA; Elmer Aprecio (Computer Science), April Rose Ompoy (Tourism), Archer M. Capadeso (AB Courses) and Angelo Rusiana (Criminology) for the CAS; Bebot Cainta (AIT) and Lilibeth V. Nano (Computer Technology), and; Prince Charles Sedigo (Civil Engineering), Jeanne Warren Tomogon (Computer Engineering) and Jalaliah Lumabao (Electronics and Communication Engineering) for the COE.

Kevin Paul G. Librea was inducted the executive secretary with Genevie C. Caidic, April R. Jumawan, and Anna Mae Balangitao as Secretary, Treasurer and Auditor, correspondingly and Angel Carreon, Jorge Denard Malazarte and Jurich Cañete as Sectoral Representatives. Remel Alum was inducted as the Chief Justice with his Associate Justices, namely; Shiela Baracol, Romeo Larisca Jr., Pinky Cuenca, Jay-R Saguin, and Jan Michael P. Laput.

The second part was the dinner. As students were having their dinner, selected members of the JRMSC Lundayan Dance Troupe and Choristers demonstrated their dancing and singing prowess in the arena. They delighted everyone with their dances and song numbers. Then, the third part Disco - "It's Party Time" followed as students danced the night away.

As the word implied, this was a gathering of students from all year levels so they could get to know each other better. Or if not, they could at least party together. Mind you, it was a fun-filled event.
