Various booths uplifts Dapitan Tourism industry


Landing Site, Sta. Cruz, and Dapitan City - With the cooperation of the Dapitan City Tourism Division, Jose Rizal Memorial State College (JRMSC) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Dapitan City, a customary ribbon- cutting ceremony formally opened the different booths of some selected barangays around the premises of Dapitan City last December 27, 2007, 2:00 pm.

Each barangay booth displayed and sold what its barangay has to offer to the tourists and visitors coming to the Shrine City.
Brgy. Banonong displayed its agricultural products like food processing products and some ornamental plants while Brgy. Silinog and Brgy. Aliguay flaunted their booths with handicraft materials, dried fish, and marine products found in their places. With rich and vast lands of coconut, the booth of Brgy. Ilaya was displayed with Coco Virgin Oil products and Agro-forestry and vegetable products. Brgy. Sta. Cruz' booth was featured with a natural display of souvenir products of Dapitan while Brgy. Dawo's booth beside it displayed woodcraft and ornamental plants. Showing different kinds of birds, an aviary was the main attraction of the booth of Brgy. Potol and a Mangrove Park resembled Brgy. Polo's booth. Brgy. Bagting was showed off with a fisherman's wharf and sea products with Brgy. Cawa-cawa's booth, beside it, festooned and displayed with woodcraft products, guitars and cut flowers.

The display of the booths simply showed the richness of the Dapitan City's natural resources and what the city has to offer to its visitors and local and foreign tourists.
