Handuraw:The Replica of the Many Splended Genius

In the midst of agony, coercion and turmoil, one man stood to coalesce his brethrens. He was firm, certain and pertinent. He confirmed the existence of truth and that justice was not defunct nor was it deprived for it only needed to be explained.

"Dapitan" is a conurbation derivative of the word "dapit" that literally means "to invite". Dapitan, the Shrine City, was a place where a noble, dignified and immense idol once was sheltered. Four years of émigré, Rizal embraced the wanting and mission of edifying the people of Dapitan, he saw the tremendous need of freeing the people from bondage.

For a philanthropist, he was a redeemer, as a genius, he drew history out of consequential pronouncements that pointed to eradicate several evils and inhuman abuses he saw rampant during the fervent state of Spanish decree. As a scholar, in a way he became a seer…seeing the outcome of a circumstance one could never dare imagine find a possible conclusion. He was more than a typical brown skinned homo sapien, he was exceptional, the liberator of the once oppressed Malay race.

As the world continues to revolve, new breed of new hope overlap with the discerning forces of the Occidental's transforming viewpoints. In a city where every street reveals vestiges of Rizal's days of spreading the gospel of nationalism, a festivity such as the "Handuraw" is something every Filipino must look forward to taking part of.

Handuraw, holding the aim to reminisce the days of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, extends its grasp to bind all patriots for a convention of thoughts and to repatriate the youth to appreciating and laying worth to the tedious and immeasurable sacrifice exerted by Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
