Sulangon NHS champs Search for Jose P. Rizal Best Performer tilt

Portraying Rizal's advent in Dapitan City down to his various attainments done in the place which led to his historically passionate romance with Josephine Bracken and to his departure in the Shrine City, Lance Kevin Saint G. Abayon of Sulangon National High School (SNHS), who played the part of Dr. Jose Rizal, overwhelmingly superseded the other nine evenly- handsome and dramatic Rizal look-a-like participants during the tedious "Search for Dr. Jose P. Rizal Best Performer" held on December 28, 2007 at Rizal Memorial Institute (RMI) Covered Court and Gymnasium, 9:00 a.m. highlighting the celebration of 2nd Handuraw 2007.

Contestant from Rizal Memorial Institute (RMI), Dapitan City Incorporated then followed and garnered the first runner-up spot with Jan Lloyd B. Capala portraying Rizal as a doctor curing his mother's blindness in Dapitan. Following him was Ronnie Barola of Jose Rizal Memorial State College (JRMSC) who got the second runner-up place with his role teaching his pupils the good virtues and values of education while in Dapitan.

The said search for Rizal Best Performer was participated in by the different public and private National High Schools around the Dapitan City Schools Division premises which include Aseniero National High School, Potungan National High School, Barcelona National High School, Ilaya National High School, Oro National High School, Dapitan City National High School and Baylimango National High School.

Vice Mayor Patri "Jing" Chan, Department of Education Supervisors and Administrators of Dapitan City and the City Tourism Division represented by Engr. Rodiolan Porlas also graced the said competition, together with several divertissements from the DepEd teachers of Dapitan.
