Escoton, Sorronda cap Mr. & Miss JRMSC ’07 title; Pinoy Pop finalist Denver Regencia graces the pageant

"A true Rizalian is someone who believes in holistic human development. He is not only a person who excels in the academe but also one who is emotionally, intellectually, spiritually and socially-developed." – Escoton

"The annual celebration of JRMSC System Meet is the time where all JRMSCian’s come together to celebrate as one family. True spirit and meaning of sportsmanship, camaraderie and friendship are the focal points of this celebration. A time for every JRMSCian to be developed holistically competing for the excellence in the academe and leading to greater heights which would eventually foster unity and solidarity". – Sorronda

These were the winning answers of Paul Gerard Escoton of the Main Campus and Hanna Gae Sorronda of Dipolog Campus who surpassed the other twelve equally handsome and lovely candidates from the satellite campuses of JRMSC as they capped the title Mr. and Miss Jose Rizal Memorial State College (JRMSC) System 2007 held on November 22, 2007 at the JRMSC Dipolog Campus Outdoor Stage, Dipolog City.

Judging sixty percent for wit and intelligence and forty percent for the different exposures of the contestants in the different categories, Escoton and Sorronda excelled the said beauty and wit pageant aiming to develop JRMSCian’s to become holistic individuals. Escoton, bearing his lucky number six and his conspicuous confidence on-stage, grabbed the Mr. Professionalism and Mr. Congeniality awards.

Succeeding the winners were Rheychold Daymiel and Flordita Pasoc of Dipolog Campus who both grabbed the first runner-up spot. Runner-up Pasoc’s beauty, poise and bearing made her garner most of the minor and major awards such as: Miss Photogenic, Miss Professionalism, Miss Congeniality, Miss Telegenic, Best in Swimwear, Best in Street Jeans and Best in Production Number.

Ruel Samson of Dapitan Campus, who received the Mr. Photogenic, Mr. Charms 2007, Best in Formal Wear and Best in Production number awards, and Mary Ann Lihaylihay of Tampilisan Campus made it to the second runner–up spot. Gerson Deniega of Katipunan Campus seized the following awards: Mr. Telegenic, Best in Swimwear and Best in Street Jeans.

Meanwhile, Denver Regencia of Pinoy Pop Superstar Season 2 graced the said event and shared his singing prowess to the roaring spectators. His own version of the songs "Half Crazy, "Bakit Pa Ba", "Forevermore" and "Say You’ll Never Go" obviously amazed and inspired the JRMSCian’s.

"I am very happy seeing a place which has become a part of my life. I am proud to be a Dipolognon and it feels great to be back", said Regencia in an ambush interview with him.

The said search for beauty, wit and confidence was sponsored by AGFA-Mitsubishi, , Avon, Charms Cosmetics, Dermatology Clinic and Health Spa and Grandiflora. It was hosted by Mrs. Jograce E. Jordan with Alejandro Sarmiento as the anchor.

Another page is added to the history of JRMSC System as the annual search for Mr. and Miss JRMSC ended up a success and marked another achievement for the school’s quest for unity and solidarity among the five JRMSC campuses.
