Thundering wallops, unyielding blocks and dints stimulated the unwavering shrieks and cheers of the spectators for the 6th volleyball tournament vied between JRMSC Main Campus and Tampilisan Campus Women, held at the sports grounds of Dipolog Campus, Thursday morning of November 22, 2007- the third day of the Founders Week and Athletics Meet at around 9:00-10:00 am.
Lightning spikes, rickety smashes heaved in the first set of the play-offs plummeting scores between 25-19 in favor of the Main Campus spikers. Unsuccessful services and undermined offenses angled in by Tampilisan’s team fueled in zest for the supporters of the Main Campus overlaid the latter to suffuse more shuddering smashes that impoverished the defense of the Tampilisan athletes.
Stunning vertical thumps arouse the adrenaline among the players and the audience as the heat blazed on having balls long eager of dropping the unfortunate court after tedious exchange of tosses from team to team. Main Campus star player Miamor Calago affixed puzzling fakes that afforded her team to take the lead in constant place successively dominating the first and second set at 25-19 and 25-24 correspondingly.
Meanwhile, Tampilisan’s Charry Tagapa stoutly entwined the balls entering their court to counteract the effect of the smacks contrived by the Main Campus. Noticing synchronized moves from Tampilisan’s Niezel Agum, Aisa Comendador and Charisma Poliante as they exhibited startling team up, the MC coach recommended Janith Gravino, Aurora Colong and Jenny Eguia to offset the strategy as they fearlessly barricaded the intruding balls, leading several aftermaths that were later found to be favorable for their team.
On the other hand, Odessy Remata maneuvered in faultless follow-ups and trembling smashes to gain more points in the midst of the second set after having courts changed concluding with final tally 25-24 taking the loop for the Main Campus’ triumphant gamut of wins.
