Library Staff and IT Personnel of JRMSC System attended the three- day training- seminar on Web-Based Library Integrated System (WEBLIS) for JRMSC System Libraries last April 19-21, 2007 which was pioneered by Mr. Edmundo C. Bon, the resource speaker and the System Administrator of the University Library, University of the Philippines, Manila.
The training- seminar intended the participants to get acquainted with the new web- technology applications, library automation and be informed with the over- all structure of WEBLIS, and its application and train IT personnel and Library Staff in the use of the said system.
On the first day, the resource trainer introduced the WEBLIS to the participants elucidating on the significance and advantages of the system for the efficient delivery of library services among students of JRMSC leading to the instruction on how to install it. “Configuration and System Administration” and “OPAC Module” were also initiated and cleverly discussed by the speaker for lengthening information purposes, in the afternoon. “Cataloging Module” was the focal point being talked about on the second day of the training- seminar. On the last day, “Circulation Module” was introduced then. Closing ceremony, distribution of certificates and closing remarks by VPAA Cecilia S. Saguin then followed.
The activity was hosted by Mr. Archer C. Campoy and ended up a success thus, uplifting the quality of library services towards JRMSC System’s pursuit to national excellence.
